The Peri-Menopause Distress Call

Mayday, Mayday, Mayday

“This is the good ship Peri-Menopause calling.

This is Peri-Menopause This is Peri-Menopause.

Mayday!: I am experiencing hot flushes, night sweats, heavy and irregular periods, mood swings, insomnia, fatigue, weight gain, rage, anger and frustration.

My call sign is mid-life crisis – but I’m still too young! I’m only in my 40's!

My position is ... irritable, hot & bothered, my periods are prolonged

My vessel is ... anxious & overwhelmed, I struggling to see through the brain fog

Assistance required is identified…can anyone hear me? I am losing control of my mind.

My hormones have capsized and I need assistance to chart my course and navigate my way through choppy waters into the calm bay of good hope & self-confidence

Mayday! My lack of sex drive, breast tenderness and migraines are steering me off course.

Mayday! Do you read me? Do you read me? I am your wife, sister, daughter, mum, friend, patient, sister-in-law, auntie, cousin, next door neighbour, school mum.

Mayday! I am all women and girls! – yes! I am HER!!

Mayday! I am your dinner lady, accountant, yoga teacher, athlete, doctor, receptionist, accounts clerk, WPC, farmer, full time mum, cleaner, scientist, engineer, doula, midwife, doctor, nurse, social worker, pilates instructor, surgeon, shop owner, mumpreneur, weight lifter, gynaecologist…(insert your role!)

Mayday! I am all women over the age of 40 – yes! I am YOU!!

Mayday! Can anyone hear me? What do I need to do to make myself heard? Not another live on social media? Wait for more celebs to speak out?

Other information: I have at least 13 million women in the UK on board”.

This call can be repeated as often as necessary until answered. If no answer is received on distress frequencies, repeat the call on any media platform which might attract attention.

Mayday relay! – Who’s listening???

We are in our 40's and 50’s, and we need help, support, guidance, & awareness NOW to navigate the symptoms of Peri-Menopause; to normalise the subject of Peri-Menopause for everyone.

We need to create a support network for younger women now so they know what to expect when they are in their 40’s.

We need to EDUCATE everyone, and EMPOWER ourselves.

If you hear a distress call and ‘genuine & tangible societal awareness, understanding & support for all women’ does not answer, render assistance where reasonable or attempt to relay the message yourself.”

Who’s with me?
